10:00am-1:00pm Table Top Exercise and Discussion
The City of Chicago is hosting a tabletop exercise in your community. A tabletop exercise is an opportunity for direct-service providers (e.g. community organizations working in education, healthcare, social services, housing, business, and violence prevention) to discuss their role in response to community violence based on a series of scenarios. Representatives from different organizations with different specialties gather during a tabletop exercise to discuss their role before, during, and after an incident occurs, looking for opportunities on how to improve coordination, information sharing, and resource allocation. The exercise will start with a community- level deep dive with data into the root causes of violence, provide ample opportunity for networking and identifying the opportunities for immediate and long-term solutions to reduce violence in your community.
COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS:
Masks will be strongly encouraged but not required for large gatherings in accordance with the Chicago Department of Public Health guidance.

TRAUMA WARNING:
This exercise involves descriptions of violence which may be disturbing to some participants, especially those who have been involved in violence or who have a history of trauma. Support space and resources will be available on site. |
