2022 Climate Action Plan Update

The City of Chicago continues to work toward creating healthy, resilient, and sustainable communities across Chicago. This year, the City will update its climate goals to reduce carbon emissions while increasing household savings, advancing environmental justice, and improving community health. With historic investments coming in 2022, thanks for telling us what’s most important to you and your community!

1. The City of Chicago is committed to achieving 100% renewable energy by 2035 for all electricity in homes and businesses. How important is it to you that the following are addressed in the renewable energy strategy?

Keep energy costs from rising

Improve access to back-up power during emergencies

Improve rooftop and community solar developments within Chicago

Make it easy for families and businesses to sign up for renewable energy

Create jobs manufacturing and installing renewable energy equipment

2. The following initiatives would both reduce carbon emissions and prioritize household savings. To increase household savings, how important is it to you that the following are prioritized in your neighborhood?
